Turnip Boy Robs a Bank Review (f0ld)

Basically much much better gameplay wise than the first, but a bit disappointing story wise. Gameplay is kind of light roguelite, shoot'em up/bullet hell. A bit like Enter the Gungeon if you know it (although much less of a roguelike than Gungeon and much easier too).
Gameplay is sooo much smoother, the first one I only played for the story and the jokes (which made it very much worth it) but the gameplay was a bit lacking, the gameplay parts (dungeons, bosses, etc) were not fun at all, even tedious, but thankfully it didn't focus that much on gameplay part so you could just ignore it.
Well that's the exact opposite. Well not "exact" because the story is still kinda fun, a lot of jokes are really good, and a lot of the lore bits are funny too... Just clearly not as much as the first one. While the first one got entirely carried by its story and jokes alone, here, if it was everything the game had it would clearly not be enough.
Thankfully, the gameplay is soooo much fun here. As I said earlier, I really get vibes from Enter the Gungeon gameplay wise. The fun of finding a cool weapon that is really satisfying to use, and then just tearing through the rooms with your new toy. Bosses are much more fun than the previous one. The timer mechanic is interesting honestly, much less frustrating than I initially expected (and it's not a hard timer, depending on your weapons, you can absolutely stay longer if you're ready for it), and forces it to be quick runs, so you don't get the tedious problem of roguelites where you know when starting a run it could be a 30/45 min run.
So, came for the story, stayed for the gameplay.
