Trepang2: Survival Mode Review (Insert Username Here)
I wouldn't not recommend this DLC as its neat as a bonus, but as a standalone DLC you can buy, yea no. What you get by buying this is a survival mode which is 10 back to back combat simulator maps with hunger mechanics. Hunger replenishes through food which is obtained by doing objectives like "kill 2 enemies with SMG" or "kill 4 enemies with thrust grenades". The way the game paces itself makes fights exhilarating to play through in short bursts, but doing so for 10 maps straight exhausts quickly. There are also different attributes when finishing 1 map and choosing the next such as different enemies, monetary rewards, etc, but i found these to be near pointless and enemies all act and react the same way, no matter what skin they have (with the exception of the jiggly bois but this is 1 type of enemy in a sea of near identical enemies). The extra stuff besides the survival mode is cool but i wouldn't pay 4.50 AUD for basically 3 grenades.
This DLC is good as a bonus, which is what it is in the season pass, but it is not worth it alone. The survival mode is essentially 10 combat simulator maps back-to-back and the differences between each map is too little to make a genuine difference. The extras outside of the survival mode is neat but not enough to outweigh the cost. This results in a DLC which i have mixed feelings on as it doesn't provide the variety that you need for something like a survival mode to actually function well but acts well as bonus content for other DLC.
