Transformers: Galactic Trials Review (Steelious)
This game has potential, whether that potential is going to be realized is another story. The 40 dollar price tag is certainly a...choice, especially with another not-so-known game doing the same thing and it became somewhat of an extremely infamous case, BUT! I'd like to imagine there being a lot of room for improvement, especially this early into release.
The characters' designs are classic and clean (I mean come on, it's the Transformers), the map graphics could use some polish, but I personally don't mind the art direction, and the game play loop itself is surprisingly fun.
There are some gripes I have against the movements and especially the jump pads during the PvP/PvE portions of the races, which I hope it is tweaked soon to be less awkward, but the overall presentation is rather enjoyable for the time being, though this depends on the future and the updates to come.
It's a bit too early into the release of this game to perfectly say how I feel about this game other than I hope to see more improvements in quality and execution, because otherwise the presentation is 10/10 for me.
I'd personally recommend this game if you're like me and you don't have a massive flagship game console lying around to play the usual Transformers titles, or if you don't mind dropping 40 bucks as a reward for surviving collage midterms; but honestly to each their own.
To wrap things up: it's cute. And another person said this is nice if you really like the Transformers and/or want to support the franchise, but otherwise the 40 dollar price tag is really dragging it.
