Townscaper Review (Cage of Campfires)

If this looks like your thing than it will be your thing.
You only have one decision to make: place a block here or don't. Depending on where blocks are and aren't in relation to one another, the game will generate different looking buildings. You learn the game by playing it and that's what makes it fun. I just wish there was so much more to find.
For the current price you couldn't ask for more but this really feels like a glorified proof of concept. A concept that, if fully explored, I could see myself paying ten times as much for. I wanna explore a whole world by building it and figure out it's rules and secrets. But as it is now it just leaves me wanting so much more.
+ Procedural generation is fun to figure out
+ Very pretty Studio Ghibli art style
+ Super cute and charming procedurally generated details
+ Satisfying SFX
- You can only place one block at a time, which makes building larger structures a pain (mods help with that)
- Not enough greenery. The only way to get a green area is by enclosing said area with a wall, which is tedious and makes even medium sized gardens look cramped
- I wish there were more structures resulting from specific block patterns (like bridges, ports, bakeries etc.)
- Irregular grid pattern often keeps you from building symetrically
