To the Moon Review (GummyGummyDropDrop)
After nearly 5 hours I finally finished this game. I don't know how to put a label on this game: a love story, an adventure, a memory lane, or ultimately just a dream, but a very beautiful beautiful dream?
Act 1 is quite introductory, providing the general background info.
Act 2 is where things getting more and more interactive and intense. I started to lose my self-awareness and slowly found my temporary replacement with the protagonist (i.e., John). I cheered for "our" bravery to talk to River, I smiled at "our" wedding, and I secretly paid attention to River as well, especially when she walked, her hair flipped from side to side.
Act 3 is the big finale, where everything was unraveled and reached to conclusion. I finally understand all the reasons behind John's wishes. Because, "then we can always regroup on the moon, silly". As John's heart rate slowly dropped, and finally ended up with a "beep-", I was happy to see that they were holding hands and had each other company.
John was very patient just for this moment. Thankfully, he had it.
I have cried multiple times throughout the game, all of which were good cries, hard cries, and loud cries. I guess fate would always lead me back to the loved ones, no matter how many times they get lost. I guess River is not a lighthouse after all, because she was, till the very end of her day, remembered by John, and her light always shined brightly on John.
