This Way Madness Lies Review (Jenny Algebra)
It's cute, it's funny, and it's fun!
This Way Madness Lies delivers gameplay in bite-sized segments. You'll do a dungeon, then see short scenes with character interaction or plot development, then dungeon, etc. The game presents you with choices that vary which scenes you see and how those scenes play out.
The combat system isn't groundbreaking, but it does enough to keep turn-based RPG gameplay interesting. Each character has a slate of abilities to choose from, and in battle these can change significantly if a character is powered up or not. For instance, one character's single targets become AOEs, one's AOEs become higher damage single-targets, skills change elements, healing changes to damaging enemies, etc.
In short, it's great & you definitely won't feel like the game is wasting your time or padding unnecessarily. Also, the soundtrack is full of bangers.
