TheHunter: Call of the Wild - Silver Ridge Peaks Review (FlyingPenguin)

I love Call of the Wild. I've put in over 500 hundred hours, and almost all of those are on the first seven maps. I really enjoy the diversity in the maps and animals.
Silver Ridge Peaks, however, is a major disappointment, for several primary reasons.
1. It's unfinished. There are roads that float above the terrain, groups of rocks that float in the air by several feet, and trails with strange looking graphical glitching. Don't get me wrong, the map is beautiful. But these graphical glitches are frequent and really break the immersion for me.
2. Far too many animals. Animal populations in the game are already high, compared to real life, so that you're not spending hours looking for a single animal in-game. This map took it way over the limit. I don't want an arcade shooter. Having dozens of animals swarming my ATV freaking out while I'm just trying to drive along the road is very annoying and kills the enjoyment of the hunt.
3. Going along with #2, there are far too many rares and diamonds. These trophies really need to be preserved as true rarities. Not common things you pick up every hour. It is at the point where I am removing SRP trophies from my main lodge, because they don't feel like a true accomplishment for me. I found something like 3 diamonds and 4-6 rares within the first 5 hours of playing the map.
4. No side missions. I really enjoy playing the side missions on most maps. Layton had some oddly specific missions that are difficult to complete, but the side missions on other maps give me a sense of purpose and something to complete when I want to take a break from my own goals. This map just has one line of main missions, and that's it.
Overall, this map feels rushed and incomplete, with issues that make it unenjoyable for me to play on. I had hoped initally that the map would be fixed and improved, but it has now been well over a year and these issues have not been addressed. Hopefully Te Awaroa and Rancho Del Arroyo, which I have yet to play, are a significant improvement over this one.
