You'll never believe this but, there are bugs in this that not only affect this map but other parts of the game as well.
Does the map look great? Yes.
Did they fix birds? Kind of but that should have been fixed years ago when they broke it and isn't part of a specific DLC
I could list the things I like and probably should but you've probably already read most of them in other reviews.
Here is what I don't like:
Ambient sounds: Everywhere you go it sounds like you're inside a nest with 50 baby birds screaming for food. These aren't game birds either. It's so loud a lot of the time you can barely hear your own footsteps.
Lazy Map Asset placement: All over the place you'll see things that were just thrown there. There are several vehicles that were just dumped on the map and are probably a good foot off the ground just hovering there. They either never actually played this map or their QA team did and the dev team said "Our players are too dumb to notice so we're not going to fix it"
Birds not being drawn: This was an issue in the playtest videos they did in the development build and during later streams as well though they just tried to play it off as "I must not be looking the right way". You'll often hear birds flapping their wings and there are no birds to be found. I've also had things drop that weren't the bird I shot. For example I shot a Canada Goose, I watched it fall, the map shows canada goose tracks but the bird I picked up was a Capercaillie, there were no canada goose tracks anywhere to be found, even where the map showed I spotted it.
This is unacceptable and was publicly displayed in a development build so they knew it was a problem but released it anyway.
They broke how animals float: I shot a moose today, it swam in the water and died. It kept standing up in the water (while dead) and almost didn't make it back to me. This will certainly cause problems.
Moose are now also able to breath underwater. I've found entire herds with just their ears above water. Maybe they breath through their ears and I've been wrong my whole life, I don't know.
No new guns? This map is all about birds which is fine but we can't even get a new shotgun? :( Lame
The story mission is a lazy pile of trash. It's just a guy that tells you to walk 37 miles and he gives you a basket of fruit. The End.
They've created holes in the map where you can fall through in some lodges now. That should be fixed in the next 6 months if we're lucky.
More than a few times I've walked through an open door just to be thrown back out of the building 4 miles backwards to my death. How did this even get released?
They released a weapon wheel that should have come out for consoles on day 1. It's pretty useless on PC, it's kind of cool to be able to switch ammo but it also ALWAYS defaults to that wheel in the F2 inventory menu instead of the list which looks better and is much easier to use on a PC.
What they should have done is created a wheel specifically for the 37 new bird callers they added. it's impossible to actually carry and use all of them in any way. Just give me a rope around my neck with all of the callers on it and let me pick from there or something.
I guess they updated the dog wheel too but dogs are worthless piles and I regret buying them so I don't know what they did there.
They have vehicles everywhere, they spent the time to make the doors open and close but we still only have a 1 person vehicle? When can we drive one of those hover cars?

I don't know why I put any trust into this game at all. They release 50 new bugs with every map and then 6 months later they fix 3 of them and want us to be grateful? I really hope their competition lights a fire and we can have 2 or 3 good games to compete so we actually get a decent product on release day.

If you can ignore the problems above the map isn't bad but the game gets worse with every update and I find myself playing less and less. I stopped playing mostly and gave this map a try. Birds are fun, I haven't even seen a Raccoon Dog track yet but I'm hoping I will some day. Every time I play this game I find more problems and I like it less.
