TheHunter: Call of the Wild - Revontuli Coast Review (elawrence)
Bah. Not the most exciting map. The large game is old news. The birds spook from 150 yards+ when the wind is in your face. Consistently this is what happens. You WALK and hear a warning. Stop immediately and crouch. Look around. And then... one bird flies off, 125 yards away. So exciting. Small game birds are usually dumb enough that you can walk up close enough to them to spot them easily, and shoot them with a shotgun. I don't feel like .22-sniping birds from 150 yards away. I'm not sure what the technique is supposed to be for those birds. Waste my time setting up a ton of decoys? In the forest? I've yet to see droppings next to water like the other maps. I don't know. For some reason or other this map is just not doing for me. It feels like the most boring, run of the mill environment they've put out yet. And that guide. Geez. We really need more exotic locales. Forest. Forest. Forest. Another forest. More deer. More moose. Sigh. The last map felt way more original, if only it hadn't been tainted by an idiotic story and somehow giving off a really weird/negative vibe of the South. I'm looking forward to The Angler, because it really feels as though Expansive Worlds have exhausted their energies with this title...
