TheHunter: Call of the Wild - Revontuli Coast Review (Dr. Just Some Homeless Guy)

Honestly, I'm enjoying this map a lot! Out of all the DLCs so far, this has been the most calming experience. While it has the most species of any map so far, few of them are especially challenging or aggressive, and the majority of what you get here are birds. That's a good thing too, because there are a lot of bird-oriented weapons and hunting blinds the game gave us before that felt under-utilized - so if you like hunting waterfowl or grouse, this map is a must.
Having spent a fair bit of time growing up in a very nearby part of the world to what this DLC depicts - I would say it captures the landscape really well, though could've done with a bit more personal touch in terms of unique assets. Most, if not all, of the vegetation models are ones you will have seen in other maps. It does the job, though, and I can't complain too much - just be prepared to run into trees you've seen a million times before in Hirschfelden and Layton Lake, among others.
Quest-wise, there is not much - the main quest is quite literally a walk you can complete in a couple of hours, and there is only a small number of side quests with lots of objectives you can complete at your own pace. The story - which is just a walking tour - is narrated by The Most Finnish Man In The World, and I mean that as a compliment. He's dorky, endearing, and plays on a lot of the kinder stereotypes of Finnish character. His sense of humor might not work for everyone, but it worked for me - and I was honestly relieved to have a no-stress main quest, as a change of pace from some of the more intense ones in other DLCs.
So, if you are looking for challenging and dangerous animals, for very unique and unusual landscapes, or exciting and dramatic quests - I would recommend the Yukon Valley, Medved Taiga, or Vurhonga Savannah maps instead, as those hit all three. Revontuli Coast has none of those - but what it does have is a great chill vibes, relaxing environment, and the best bird hunting in the game. Bring your .22 and your 20-gauge weapons, and you'll have good fun.
