TheHunter: Call of the Wild - Bloodhound Review (Serious Fisher)

I haven’t read other reviews of this DLC yet, so my thoughts are unbiased and based solely on my own gameplay experience.
First of all, I’d like to say that the dog is good overall, and the DLC is worth buying — but I do wish the developers had made some improvements or fixes to the dog. Let me explain why.
At the beginning of the game, when I was mostly walking enjoying the scenery, taking screenshots, doing missions, and shooting animals I came across, the dog seemed like a perfect companion. However, once I started running most of the time, it became less effective. It often lags behind or gets stuck in certain cross-country or mountainous terrain. It also can’t take shortcuts or jump where my in-game character can, instead looking for another route.
Things got even worse after I started focusing on drink zones, grinding for diamonds, rare fur animals, and great ones (if I’m lucky!). I noticed that the dog moves much slower in shallow water than my character does, and — most annoyingly — it stops and shakes after every single contact with water . This slows it down significantly and makes it almost useless when I need to quickly harvest a downed animal.
I understand that the developers probably added this feature to increase realism, but I doubt a real dog would shake off that often , especially when actively tracking prey.
That said, I still recommend this DLC, especially for new players, and I hope the developers will address the issues I’ve described above in a future update.
