TheHunter: Call of the Wild - Bloodhound Review (agentmith)

I'm torn on whether to recommend this or not. This is basically a cheat for finding downed animals, and is annoying more often than not. You can't shoot the dog, and it often bumps into you when you're aiming or sits in front of your line of sight. Animals unrealistically can't detect the dog, and there is only one breed of dog. I have no idea what the dog leveling up does, as it just works when commanded.
Honestly, if you want an immersive experience, don't get this. If you want to make sure you find every downed animal or are a completionist, get it. You can always turn it off, or "kennel" the dog which is just a magical menu selection that makes your dog instantly appear/disappear. I'm not going to recommend this as overall I think it has more negative qualities than positive. I wish the dog aspect was handled differently or made a little more immersive, realistic, and robust. It would be great if they included more than one breed, they had actual personalities, if they could get hurt, if the animals could detect them, feeding, seeing or visiting an actual kennel, worked as an actual pointer for flushing game or did anything proactively, etc. It's literally only good for finding something that's already been shot, and requires you to actively tell it to do so. It feels like they started working with several ideas and just gave up on them and released it anyway, the meters don't seem to do anything and there's no reason to maintain any of the dog's meters.
