TheHunter: Call of the Wild - Bloodhound Review (Aerryss)

This DLC is a Love/Hate kind of DLC. It is the most disappointing and antagonizing experience while simultaneously helping significantly. It cements itself as DLC you NEED to have, but you hate it more than any other addition to the game.
The dog finds blood spots nearby, and that's probably the most useful thing it does. If you like to hunt predators, it will let you know when they are nearby, which is great.
Whoever was in charge of giving the dog following intelligence was probably pulled from the team that designs a Swedish company's furniture, as the simplicity is near insulting. If that sounds like a large disconnect, you'll feel it once you see the dogs behavior for yourself.
-The dog will walk into your shot. The dogs hitbox is larger than the dog, and being anywhere near you can sometimes cause "invalid target" when you pull trigger.
-The dog has no stable sense of pacing or direction sometimes and will walk into an ATV during movement, causing wonderful launching effects. Most of the time my dog is tracking about 10 feet to the side of a track and will sometimes quickly change up pathfinding around the track, so you HAVE to sit back and wait for it to get to where it wants to go. Some times pathfinding gets stuck and dog does circles against trees and rocks. Restarting tracking didn't help.
-The dog will sometimes sit still and not respond to commands to heel, of course conveniently while positioned between myself and my target.
It's a hell to deal with sometimes, and I'm at the point where I just keep it in the kennel until I've lost something, then I'll whip out tent and let the dog find blood before I put tent back up, kennel dog and continue tracking. I save time and hair pigment that way.
