The Wizards: Dark Times Review (Dragarcher)

I've been an active VR gamer for over three years, playing a wide range of games from simple experiences to hyper-realistic adventures. Unfortunately, I have to say that The Wizards - Dark Times: Brotherhood is one of the worst performing VR games I've encountered.
As a huge fan of magic-themed games, I was incredibly excited to dive into this one. However, the excitement quickly turned into disappointment. The performance issues in this game are simply unacceptable. The loading times between areas are painfully long, and this occurs despite the fact that there isn't much happening in the environments – not a lot of flying particles or complex visuals that would justify such delays.
I've played a dozen VR games that run much smoother, even those with more intensive graphics and dynamic elements. In contrast, The Wizards - Dark Times: Brotherhood struggles to maintain a consistent performance, which significantly hampers the overall experience.
I only tested out the campaign mode, and I expected a seamless and immersive journey. Instead, I found myself constantly pulled out of the magic due to frequent and lengthy loading screens. This kind of performance issue is a major letdown for a game in 2024, especially considering the advanced state of VR gaming today.
In summary, despite my love for magic games, The Wizards - Dark Times: Brotherhood left me thoroughly disappointed due to its poor performance. I sincerely hope the developers address these issues, as the potential for a great magical VR experience is there, but it’s currently overshadowed by technical shortcomings. I will probably re-review this game in the future if the performance issues are fixed, but at the moment, it is just not fun for me due to the performance.
