The Walking Dead: Saints & Sinners Review (Hectagon)
Man do I love this game. It has such unique physics compared to other games that compare, such as Blade and Sorcery, Bonelab, and even pavlov. Wielding either gun or melee weapon feels satisfying, has weight, and feels powerful. Other games might struggle and make the weapon either too light or too heavy, but I feel as if Walking Dead got it just right.
The story is absolutely amazing. Having a guy communicate to you via radio, and doing all the missions, make the game so much more interesting. The game can bring you on edge by going to the school, or makes you feel badass while you wipe the floor with the enemy in their own hideout. Either way, the game is satisfying and is probably my favorite VR game.
I do feel as if the ending, at least the one with the axeman, is a little bit of a miss for me, as I was really hoping I could at least see what he looked like.
The choice between either saving casey or killing him for the loot is also a miss, as saving him just means that he leaves you behind to go venture out. While killing him means you get all the loot the reserve has to offer... at least as much as you're able to hold. Without mods, you're AT MOST able to hold 3 primary weapons (There's probably at least 8). Only able to store so much food supplies, you're forced to leave it all behind. By the point you reach with either killing or saving casey, you should already have everything in the game. A few more shotguns and rifles does almost nothing, and the supplies help, but it's nothing scavenging can't replace. Which is why saving casey SHOULD be the better option. But as I have said, he just leaves you to go on his own. It makes no sense why you're not rewarded more for either. Having a partner in this game follow you, even if he's just a glorified extra backpack, wouldve been the coolest addition to this game. Unfortunately, you can't have your cake and eat it too
TL;DR I love this game to bits and it has unmatched physics. The story is amazing, even if the ending misses a bit. Can't wait to 100% the next game <3
