The Spirit and the Mouse Review (Dodj E. Cur)

If you are a fan of rodents then the premise alone of a getting to play a mouse should be enough to convince you to give this a try. That it is collect-a-thon, exploration game with puzzle-solving elements that manages to be challenging at times without being frustrating is an added bonus for anyone else.
"But what about the story?" I hear you ask (leading me to wonder how I'm once again hearing people reading a review I'm in the process of writing... but I'll worry about that later), "Even good gameplay can't save a game with a bad story!" luckily 'The Spirit and the Mouse' has nothing to worry about there; the wholesome tale of a little mouse who wants to help the humans of her village, to make an impact in someone's life and bring them a bit of happiness (and in doing so proving that sometimes the smallest things can make a massive difference) is so wholesome and well-told you won't be able to help yourself from becoming invested in the emotional rollercoaster from beginning to end (not that you'll be trying to resist). At about five hours, not counting collecting elements, it's the perfect length to experience a tale told in one or two sittings.
In every way this game embodies the concept of "good things come in small packages"... and if that's still not enough for you, it allows you to squeak on command with the right mouse button!
