The Rumble Fish 2 Review (ChaoticPro17)
Definitely recommend if you are into your 2D fighting games. The system is rather unique but also has a lot of familiar elements that fans of the genre are so familiar with such as combo cancels (super/normal), combo strings with many more options at your disposal. In my experience I never even knew about this game until I came across a pro FGC player called KizzieKay playing this hidden gem, I love finding these gems I never knew about.
The graphics and fighting system is quite unique and ahead of its time of its initially release (you have dual super bars one for offence and one for defence...WHAA never came across that before lol), all enveloped with a great soundtrack and an array of interesting characters and backgrounds which has a diverse Shonen/Seinen Anime feel. Another really awesome element is that it still has reminiscence of late 90's early 2000's fighting games where each character has some backstory with at least more than 2 paragraphs of lore not just one line of dialogue then credits (lol), great background images in ending scenes to really build the atmosphere and connection with the lore, also the short dialogues you get in-between fights and unique character intro scenes for characters with history or rivalries that really brings together a nostalgic familiarity if you are a fighting game fan that has played series such as Capcom vs SNK , SF Alpha , and KOF.
If you are a collector of 2D fighting games that are not mainstream but stays authentic to the fighting game genre but adds unique flavour and stands out alone... definitely give this a try!!! If you are looking for online matchmaking then this port is not the best. The reason why I gave this game the thumbs up is because I came across this game knowing nothing about it and I believe the game itself is awesome. It all really depends on your priorities when looking for a fighting game to play.
