The Mageseeker: A League of Legends Story Review (Doxcz)
Let's start with the good: The art is beautiful even amazing in some parts. The companion system gives it quite a bit of depth. Lastly, upgrading the base rewards and incentivize you to perform the secondary missions and seek all available resources scattered in the levels.
However, the combat is very clunky, filled with bs hits and an aim system deplorable at best. The characters are very one dimensional, and the story is boring. This game features such a cliche good vs bad that you can even expect what will happen and what the characters are going to say. About the dialogues, about 1% is voice acted and that percent is amazing but the rest of the game is not which is such a huge let down. The levels are very lineal except for the optional "secret" in each level; to the point that exploring doesn't seem rewarding. The upgrades to your character are so poor and at such at steep price. Your dash is desceptibly small and often times does not follow your cursor. I played with controller and several times encountered game breaking bugs if I alt tab because the game thinks you want to play with mouse and keyboard. The bugs were solved by closing and reopening the game but honestly the should not even exist. I am about 70% done at the time of review and the base is fully upgraded so I don't know what else to do. A great mechanic yet incomplete.
I am a lover of Runeterra lore and I was very excited to play this game yet it was a waste of money honestly. I think I came out having conflicting lore than learning more of the world. Bought without dlcs and if after this review you are inspired to purchase, I recommend you too skip dlcs as they are purely cosmetic and in other players words "minimal change"
