The Mageseeker: A League of Legends Story Review (ANxDY)
tl;dr great game on hardest difficulty. check the web-comic for the prologue. don't bother with deluxe/dlc
most of the time, i prefer to play mouse and keyboard, but this game felt right to use a controller with. i love being able to sit back in my chair and still feel like i can truly play the game without any hiccups or needing my mouse/keyboard to do a certain thing. sure, there were sit up and focus moments ( lookin at mr demacia (j4) himself and apparently mrs demacia (shyv)? ), but i think the game did a good job balancing things (or also possibly not since i only felt that on the hardest difficulty?)
i can be a bit of a difficulty snob. i started and only played on the hardest difficulty and think that maybe that's why i don't understand how/why people are saying that this game is short with little replay value. i struggled my way through bosses, but in a good way. the roguelike elements that are present were fun to experiment with. some builds felt godly, yet others fell flat or maybe i just didn't have/find the right combination
having read the web-comic, seeing this announced had me suuuper hyped. i can't say the lore/writing was award-winning by any means, but despite being mostly predictable, i still felt connected to the non-league characters and quite enjoyed seeing league's characters off the rift.
overall solid game. worth the $30 imo, deluxe is just all the dlc (minus one i think). the extra spells didn't really stand out to me, so i'd probably skip that. everything else is a skin or cosmetic. definitely worth if on sale
