The Last of Us Part I Review (Jon Umber)
This is a phenomenal game, both from a story and gameplay perspective. If the port's ever stabilized, I'll get around to writing a full review and I'll definitely thumb this up.
However the current state of things is god-awful. I'm fortunate enough to have a very powerful PC, so when it runs, it runs fairly well. The issue here is that it lacks stability. The game crashes nearly once every two hours or so, and while that's annoying, the most debilitating part of these crashes is that the game will often force you to verify files afterwards. Once you've verified files, you've got to recompile shaders, which can take upwards of 45 minutes! And, to top it off, the cherry on top is that the game will often then crash WHILE COMPILING SHADERS, forcing you to begin the entire arduous process all over again.

This is a completely broken port that shouldn't be purchased at the moment. Even after several patches it's still extremely difficult to keep the game running on my machine. I strongly recommend all players steer clear of this for several months to a year, as it should never have been released in this state in the first place.

Edit: Since folks have suggested in the comments that I only gave this a bad review because my PC is weak, I wanted to state for the record I'm running this on a 3080 Ti. My machine is plenty strong enough to run this one, it's just an awful port.
