The Lamplighters League Review (MiAh The King)
Okay so yes I'm giving this game a thumbs up. It has reasons for that. But I wanna make sure you know that it's not all perfect.
So first. The game is really nice to look at, it's also really nice to listen to. With an interesting story, mystery, well written dialogue and a big game with a lot going on for it, it deserves a thumbs up.
But it also has it's problems. The User Interface while seemingly simple is missing important things like tooltips. You never know what an item is or what it's used for until you're in combat or using it. This makes it hard to prepare for future missions.
The stealth, in this primarily stealth-based game, is kinda badly designed. With characters popping out of hiding for no reason, not crouching when the rest of the part is crouching, people being spotted way too fast or too early, limited actions you can perform when your not in combat and incredibly punishing for when you ARE in combat it makes the stealth more irritating and annoying than anything else.
The gameplay loop is at risk for being repetitive and with no serious choices or dialogue options it makes the replayability a bit of a letdown as well.
The game gets a thumbs up because it does what it sets out to do and for the most part it's a pretty good game. But it does have it's issues (like constantly dropping frames while I was playing). Luckily a lot of its issues look like they can be fixed with patches so lets hope they get those patches soon.
