I expected more from 'Gold Road' if I am honest.
Pros
+New Zone is nice
+Shardborn Motif is sick
+The new Daedric prince is interesting and does spice up the established lore nicely
+New Tales Patron is fun and feels well balanced
+Scribing is a nice addition (though I havent found myself caring about it personally, I know a lot of people love this feature)
+Nice amount of unlockables via achievements
+New player house can be earned with in game gold and is beautiful
+Some nice Wood Elf flavour
+Beefy WWB (4 Angus steaks, quite fun but plain with no new mechanics)
Cons
-New soundtrack is very boring and 'safe'.
-None of the new WBs are memorable
-The scribing story questline was god awful and felt like a lot of bs to make a reason for scribing to exist.
-Playing the zone story in coop, me and my partner ran into many bugs stopping us from continuing and on one case to abandon the quest and start from the start (about 40 minutes worth of content lost).
-A good chunk of side quests in the zone were actually part of the MQ and felt cheap to pass of as side content.
-Ithelia's character looks so out of place (which is a common complaint and rightly so)
-New incursions are ok but only 3 bosses which all look and perform the same.
-No new weapons..
-Still ridiculously easy over-world content.
Overall I would rate this expansion a 5/10, much of the same content we are used to getting but this time feels less with a lot of corners cut. An example to what I mean by this would be the scribing MQ which sees you go to old zones for random objectives.. They could have easily added a small new area specifically for the scribing story (or even just came up with a FUN idea) but decided to waste our time sending us back to outdated zones doing the most tedious quest objectives in the game TO DATE. Absolutely pointless and FRUSTRATING.
I really expected more this time round, especially with how good Necrom was and the fact that ZOS are celebrating 10 years of ESO.
Do better Bethesda.
