The Case of the Golden Idol İnceleme (Pod)

An superb detective game set in pseudo-Britain that gives the ol' noggin a workout. Highly recommended for any budding Poirots and Marples.
It's a unique and innovation design that isn't seen in many other places, so I'm glad the actual game is fun to play, rather than just being experimental. The plot of the main game is engaging and makes sense, and the "twist" is well executed (plus, good detectives would have figured it out already), but the real meat of the game is in figuring out all of these weird scenarios. They could be 12 completely independent crime scenes and the game would still work just as well. By the late game you're always jumping between puzzles to recall old information. In the finale they give you a mechanic to do this, but it would have been nice from the start (and they improve it in the DLC)
The art is pretty "grotesque" (intentionally) and overly brown. Overall I'm not a huge fan of the art design, but it's passable. The soundscape is pretty nice, though it gets quite repetitive given how little there is and how long you can be in some scenes for.
I like that the game tries to throw a few red herrings in. I'd actually appreciate more!
I'm mildly upset that I completed the game using 0 hints and didn't get a cheevo for that!
The DLC adds time, which is a nice bit of spice to the game. Both DLC up the ante from the base game and require you to think about more things and retain more of the puzzle pieces at the same time, which means they're more complicatd to figure out, whereas the main game keeps it at a decent level. You'll almost wish you had pen and paper to hand in the DLC, as there's always one or two extra bits of information you need to retain.
DLC 1 is better than 2. 2 is far too "on the nose" with the expodumping and in some cases is a garbled mess. The puzzles are just as good though.
