The Alters Review (Samurai Doggo)

One of my favorite studios, once again delivering excellence.
11 bit studios has firmly earned a place among my favorite game developers. As a veteran who has spent over 450 hours on Frostpunk 1 and finished This War of Mine multiple times, I can confidently say: they’ve done it again.
First and foremost, I’d like to highlight their generosity when it comes to Turkish language support. While many big studios tend to ignore the Turkish market—often for political reasons—11 bit has not only provided full localization but also offered a very fair price for the MENA region. Thank you for both the accessibility and the respect. Please consider supporting this game—it deserves it.
Watching Polish studios grow and thrive in the global gaming industry is genuinely heartwarming. I sincerely hope to witness a similar evolution in the Turkish gaming scene one day.
Now, about the game itself—it’s beautifully crafted, with immersive music, powerful atmosphere, and strong narrative design. I found the same emotional and strategic satisfaction I experienced with Frostpunk and This War of Mine, all over again.
That said, a few issues need to be mentioned.
I experienced frequent crashes—not just standard crashes, but ones where my monitor would go into sleep mode and never recover, forcing me to restart my PC completely each time. On a system with an RTX 5070, this was quite unexpected. I probably had to reboot my machine around 10 times, and unfortunately, it also corrupted some of my save files.
I trust this will be fixed over time. Bugs are understandable in the early days, and I’m sure the team is already working on it.
Toward the end of the game, the gameplay began to feel a bit repetitive. I’m not entirely sure how this could be improved, but maybe a couple of optional bonus chapters or moments to "breathe" between intense scenarios might help.
Aside from that—well done and congratulations. I’ll be closely following your upcoming titles. Keep up the amazing work.
