THE PROS:
- The game bolsters a pretty impressive documentary and an interactive timeline that truly tells the story of Tetris, its creator, Alexey Pajitnov, and other people deeply involved with the game's success (like Henk Rogers).
- New game "Tetris Time Warp" allows you to play Tetris while warping through different "eras" of the game's history via special tetrominoes.
- You get to play a faithful recreation of the original Tetris that Alexey Pajitnov initially coded on an old Electronica 60 computer.
- Button remapping has now been added to all of the games.
THE CONS:
- At the time of me writing this review, there is NO ONLINE MULTIPLAYER. I am not sure if there will be an update down the road or if this is it. I will update if things change.
- The collection of games is good, but I feel it is a few games away from being a truly "GREAT" collection; games like: Tetris (Game Boy), and Tetris (NES), and the Sega arcade port, just to name a few.
- The price may be a shutdown for some. At $34.99 USD MSRP you are getting a 5-chapter documentary and 21 games, some of which are different versions of the same games.
- Tetris Time Warp only offers the same challenge per "era" that you warp to. It is fine the first couple of times, but can become repetitive the more you play.
NOTICE: This is NOT an "ULTIMATE COLLECTION" of Tetris Games, but rather just a few games from the vault of Tetris's past.
VERDICT: All in all, Tetris Forever is an awesome celebration of 40 years of Tetris. I think it is worthy of being a part of any Tetris enthusiasts' collection. - 7/10
