Terraria Review (Ezra Edelstein)

I wanted to write this review after I spent enough time in the game and have gotten most of the achievements. So now that I’m about 109/115 achievements & 100 hours playtime, I feel I can finally give an adequate review.
I felt this game was hard to get into at the beginning but if you have someone help you through the first steps in learning the game play and crafting mechanics, it gets easier and more fun. It’s hard because at the start, you basically are some weak homeless dude and have to fight off slimes, collect and craft, materials build your own house before it gets dark (and pretty much do this for the entirety of the game but as you progress, you get to upgrade your gear and it gets easier). It sounds like a grind but it’s well-worth it. It’s somewhat satisfying to build yourself up from the beginning, from wood walls to the solar or vortex brick or something.
The coolest part of the game is the crafting and building aspects of it. There’s so many different types of materials, which you can make into various styles of brick or wall paper, even furniture (like balloon furniture). There’s so much customizability in how you can build your houses. There’s different environments or “biomes” so you build houses that are befitting of that specific biome and then you get NPC’s to move in. You can also collect weird paintings which you can decorate your houses with.
There’s different game modes too so if you want a challenge, you can play hardcore or if you just want to build, you can do journey mode which allows you to duplicate items so you don’t have to destroy your world mining it all. It’s one of those games where there’s no right way to play. Play how you want and play how you think is most fun. The music and the scenery in the game is also very pleasant, so it’s a very nice chill relax game. It’s nice solo and coop. 10/10 would recommend.
In brief, here's some aspects I loved about it:

environment & character customization
crafting, collecting, and building
open world exploration of different scenic environments
soundtrack (that corresponds with the biome)
different game modes and difficulties
adorable creatures throughout the biomes

Notice, I didn't mention combat in my review. Eh, it's not my type of game combat wise but that's the beauty of this game. There's different game modes where you can choose what type of experience you want from the game. Some go for those hardcore challenge runs and I go for Journey mode because I love the buidling and crafting elements.
