Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Splintered Fate - Casey Jones & the Junkyard Jam Review (Sqwoot)

Killer DLC for the price.
Pros:
- Casey is very fun to play. Short attack chain with a wide swing, his tool is designed to pump up your special, and his special launches a hockey puck with a very satisfying sound effect when it hits. Having his tool "The Juice" in the upgrade roster is going to lead to some new strategies with the rest of the turtles, too.
- The new map is a nice change of pace. With a game like this where you do dozens of runs, ANY change of scenery is welcome, and the junkyard is visually interesting enough to freshen things up. Same with the bosses, that extra bit of variety really helps.
- There are a few new relics in this, and so far they all seem based around multiplayer. (Things like "When you defeat a boss, all players get X amount Max Health.) I haven't unlocked them all so I can't say for sure, but it seems like they're all of this nature where it's going to get more and more effective the more people you play with. Gives some opportunity for some fun themed team runs.
- At under ten bucks, this is a very nice boost of content for the game. I'd buy plenty more packs just like this, and I hope we get more "Alternate Paths + Character" packs in the future.
Cons:
- If you're an achievement hunter, there's only two new ones and they're for beating the new miniboss/bosses.
- This is probably the main Con for me: I'm sitting on about 50k Dragon Coins and Astral Coins, and was really hoping we'd see some more new upgrades. Casey has his own mastery upgrades, but those are still a drop in the bucket. I would've been satisfied with maybe 5 new ranks of max health or something similar - basically just someplace to dump all these extra coins for marginal increases. This is a very nitpicky complaint, I just feel like the game would benefit from a currency sink.
Very minor Cons for what is otherwise a high value DLC.
