Teardown: Time Campers Review (Dukkiegamer)
I bought the Season Pass on sale for 20 bucks. It includes 4 DLC, which makes this DLC cost me just 5 bucks. And it's just about worth it at that price point, though I expected more.
MISSIONS
They're pretty similair to the base game, no real innovation. Some of them have cool features. In one mission there's a tornado that picks you, any loose things laying around and throws it around. It also damages buildings. It's a bit of challenge to navigate around it in that one, but it's not very hard. And that's my main problem, it's just not hard AT ALL. Every single mission can be done first try with a little planning. The base game missions are wayyy harder. There's not a lot of things to collect or money to find in the missions, because you can't upgrade anything.
MAPS
There's 2 new maps and a new homebase, they look nice and the sound design is very good. I love the music, it fits very well! But in the end it's just 2 maps, which is fine for 5 bucks, but the missions are very easy and don't differ a lot. You're just doing the same thing on different pixels. There's no unique things that can only be done on a certain map with a certain vehicle. No memorable differences in the maps, especially because the missions are so easy so an obstacle isn't really a problem because you've got room for errors.
WEAPONS
A new gun and some new explosives, but it's just really just the same as the base game just with a slightly different explosion radius probably. It's fine, but it's boring because that's all you get. You can't upgrade them either, so you're not even working towards anything. No reason to explore the map either, because there's nothing to look for.
VEHICLES
There's only one vehicle in the game that is useable in missions. The horse and it's fun, but it doesn't "drive" like a horse. I personally don't really mind, but what I do mind is that there's again nothing difficult about this vehicle. It's indestructable. That's fun for one mission and after that it just feels OP af.
It's more of the same as the base game, but worse in my opinion. I really like the base game and I like this too, but it just needs to be more difficult and have more progression. I don't need extra content for that. Just give me less ammo and make me work for more of it. The missions need to be harder and more creative. I'd give it a 5,5/10 which is just barely a passing grade in my country. If just the missions were harder (so just give me like ~15 seconds less per mission) it would've been a lot more fun already.
Considering I only paid 5 bucks it's definitly worth it, especially because I can support the creators of the base game (which is amazing) in a meaningful way and get something back.
