Surviving Mars: In-Dome Buildings Pack Review (Stinky Skunk)
This is not worth $5(especially when compared to the Colony Design Set DLC) but I have zero self-respect and I hate dealing with seniors and children.
On a serious note(as mentioned in another review) a few buildings are too good and need nerfed(wow, I can't believe I just typed that.)
Medical Post: This is straight broken and makes infirmaries pointless. Number of visitors needs to be reduced from 3 to 2. An infirmary services 5 colonists with 2 medics per shift. 3 medical posts can service 9 and take up the same size plot. 50% more workers and maintenance(with a measly 20% increase in initial total construction cost) to service 80% more people. It also lowers the comfort required for births by the same amount as an infirmary. Only downside is service comfort is 10 higher with the infirmary but that doesn't balance it out.
School Spire: 36 students seems pretty excessive. 30-32 seems more balanced. But what makes it so imbalanced is the Superior Education upgrade. 10% of my graduates have turned genius. Totally defeats the purpose of research buildings. Just build 1 or 2 of these and you never need scientists. This is stupid.
Retirement Home: 16 seniors in 3 hexes. That's so fucking broken. Look, we all hated having to make retirement domes but realistically this should be 12.
Smart Apartments: Consumes less power than normal apartments(what?) without an increase in maintenance cost over a Smart Complex.
TV Studio Workshop: Unlocked via early game tech(Live from Mars), employs more colonists than VR Workshop(mid-late game tech), gives you funding and also creates celebrities.
Large Nursery, Hospital and Security Post: relatively balanced, these are fine as is.
To add insult to injury: colonists don't have any interactions with the new buildings. They go inside and disappear. It's a "premium mod" instead of a real DLC. Virtually no coding was done. Like all of Silva's mods, this is basically cheats except you actually have to pay for them. Gross.
tl;dr this DLC is literally pay to win
