Super Alloy Ranger Review (American Dove Mitten)

Forgive me for a boring review, but sometimes the game is just good, all I can do is give it some generic compliments, and yet, it would be wrong not to do it - I could not ask for a better traditional platformer, it plays well, the movement is perfect (as far as I am conerned), the levels are great, the difficulty is fair, the hitboxes never feel cheap, and it has some extra bonus content in the hub, plus you can play as 2 characters from the start, although I don't particularly like playing the melee here. Now the game is obviously inspired by MegaMan, but I will say it does not feel like another tribute, not another 1 to 1 copy of the mechanics, if anything this game feels like a more advanced version of MegaMan, with more tools to play with. As I already mentioned, in my opinion, the game just does the delays on the platforming perfectly, at least when it comes to most of the actions, I like that I can store multiple jump and dash chargers, in addition to hovering in the air by shooting down. The only time I feel it's off is when I use special attack mid-air, you tend to fire as you fall down instead of shooting at the eclipse (horizontally anyway).
In this game you can play the levels out of order, you just don't have the iconic boss icons. I actually started on the second difficulty because I had a feeling the game would be fair, and honestly, there is like ZERO crap in this game, the balancing seems to be perfect, if anything, the game is on the easy side, you can just replay from the last completed section. Well, I guess the damage on the spikes and traps is a little weird, but at the same time, it's a good way to punish reckless players. The boss fights are decent, some of them anyway, not too hard, not too easy, you should be able to beat them between 0 and 3 tries, not exactly punishing as I said, the game is very fair, you can anticipate the attacks pretty well.
Initially, I was looking for that charge attack which I didn't find, but you don't charge the basic attack, you can charge all of the special weapons for unique effects, and if you wait long enough, your basic attack fires a stronger projectile. The game does support controller binding, just note that on Xbox One controller B is confirm, and it will stay that way in the menus.

Pros:

(+) The movement is perfect in my opinion, I am in control of my character and weapons, and I like the variety of mobility options like the jump charges, dash charges, and weapon hovering. The only nitpick I have is shooting special weapons in mid-air, I am feeling a bit of a delay.
(+) Really nice level design, visually, and in terms of navigation. Sometimes you get multiple ways to complete the sections, and there are plenty of small secrets.
(+) Very balanced difficulty, good hitboxes across the board, decently interesting boss fights, and some optional content in the hub. Can choose from 2 characters from the start.

Feedback:

I don't have any objective problems with the game. A small note, the game starts in a windowed mode and often resets to it when using alt+enter (changing into fullscreen seems to fix it, and the binding change does not affect the menu confirm button). I wish using the special weapons in mid-air would be instant, as you go up, you tend to fire them as you fall, some type of weird delay for no apparent reason.
Overall Thoughts: 9/10
Sure, the game is not doing anything super interesting, but I still like good old action platformers that are made well, fair price, and pretty much perfect gameplay execution IMO, personally I can't see much wrong with it. Yea... If you like Megaman adjacent games, go for it.
