Stray Blade Review (IchigoK95)

My first ever review! I will try to be short and to the point:
Most will read "souls-like" and expect resting at shrines to refill potions and/or respawn enemies. While resting does respawn some enemies, it does not refill your health consume item. These are gathered through harvest. The enemies are very simple. The combat is very simple. The art is very simple. The game is very simple. It's the simplicity that actually makes the game tough. You need to know when to parry and when to dodge. Most of these are through wind ups that are kind of hard to get without getting hit one or two times before learning the timing. This game is very pleasing to the eye. It feels more like an RPG than anything. You gather blueprints and materials to craft said items. This is a game where I can turn on and relax through the vibrant colors and take my time enjoying the scenery. It can feel a little "cluncky", but this isn't a big budget game. If you miss your parry or dodge, you will be stuck in a frame you can't get out of and probably get hit. The enemies also take no impact. Hitting the enemies feel like hitting an impenetrable wall, but its easily able to be adjusted to. The finishers are so pleasing and feel so rewarding. I've yet to reach a "first boss", but I've come across some of the difficult enemies and they were a blast fighting. The game isn't for everyone, but if you enjoy an enriched environment with a very relaxing setting, this game is for you.
