Storyteller Review (TheHumanHeater)
I'm going to be completely honest, I've been following this game for a while. I'm incredibly upset to give it a thumbs down, but I was severely disappointed to find the lack of content, especially considering the amount of time put into the game. There were only around 50 levels (52 if I'm correct), and the creators had been working on this game for nearly 15 years prior to the release according to gamerant. I also noticed one of my favorite parts of the demo almost completely disappeared. For those who haven't played, at the end of the demo, you unlock a jester hat that gives you a new challenge for each level that changes the story slightly, while providing double the gameplay. In the full release, I've found that only a few levels actually include the extra challenge mechanic, which ends up being unlocked instantaneously.
I'm not saying this game is without it's merits, for example the art and puzzles in the game are incredibly fun and beautiful. I love the hand drawn feel and the different characters, and I found it a really fun game. To be completely honest, I think this would be one of my favorite games if they had included more. One way I would've kept this and even given it a better review would be if they had given us a sandbox mode after earning the Storyteller rank. They could've also given us more gameplay with extra levels, or even a character creator or something akin to that. I would love to get this game again later on, if they can provide us with extra mechanics, or extra levels of some sort, like another book or any other ideas I've mentioned. But for now, I'm trying to get a refund sadly.
Creators, please add more, I enjoyed the time I had playing your game, but I need more to keep it in my favorites.
