Stellar Blade Review (WeeHammy)

Stellar Blade caught my eye the moment it got revealed, for it's amazing visuals and gameplay (totally not because of that latex suit and juggle physics). I was not disappointed in the slightest. From the moment I first launched this on my PS5, to the moment I finished the game... I wanted more. This is how you do a game!
Below I will express how well this game actually runs on my PC, and, all of my former thoughts on the game after achieving 100% on PS5 with about 150 hours logged in total, so, let's get to it!

Pro's

⚫The graphics are just dead drop gorgeous. From the looks of Eve (in her stunning outfits may I add) to the decrepit, war torn, run-down buildings you get to explore.... everything has been thought about and the detail is beyond amazing!
⚫The monster designs are just stunning also. The detail on them is crazy well done.
⚫Another note about monsters - the game has 58 different variants of Naytiba for you to fight. So one can say, the game has plenty of variety!
⚫As you progress you get given new tools, items, skills, burst-skills and so much more to keep the gameplay constantly evolving, keeping YOU involved in the game and invested!
⚫The game is accompanied by a soundtrack that unbelievably suits the game so well. The music is like having an ear orgasm, to me anyway. I fell in love with this soundtrack for a long time.
⚫The combat is fantastic. Slick combos to smooth animations, yet, challenging enough for the player to learn! Not only that, it has a "customizable skill system" that goes so in depth it can be tailored to each individual players preference (to a degree of course). Not only that
⚫The boss fights in this game are amazing!!!! This is how you do boss fights! Challenging, rewarding combat against a big hulking opponent that's made to pummel you into the floor... damn... you can't get better!
⚫They have tonnes of content for you to do. From sidequests to fishing, which by the way is rather fun, good luck getting that outfit!!
⚫The open world exploration is really fun! Finding collectables, triggering hidden fight encounters and not only that, rather rewarding for Eve. Max health increase, check. Max energy increase, check. New exoskeletons, check. Trust me, the 2 zones you get to explore - EXPLORE!!!
⚫The game has DLC and a NG+! (this wasn't a thing when I played hence why I added it in here!)
⚫Performance wise - not a single issue so far. No lag, stutter, freezing, crashing... this is a fantastic PS game to release on PC and that is rather shocking to me. Worth every penny!
⚫The developer managed to make it so the PSN requirement is NOT needed and they also managed to get this game restored to hundreds of countries PSN wasn't allowing it in. That, that shows how dedicated Shift Up are!!

Con's

⚫The Story - It's not bad, it has it's moments but remember - Hyung-Tae said "He is a visualist, not a storyteller" so, don't expect a story that is 10/10 award winning bafta. The reason for this is that some characters felt... lacking in some aspects (personality mainly).
⚫Some of the sidequests are just boring, repetitive and unrewarding. You slog through an area you have already been to only to earn gold or XP.

My Verdict/TL;DR

Stellar Blade is an exceptional game. The combat feels amazing, if you are a fan of Sekiro, it feels just like that but in my humble opinion - BETTER. Animations are beyond smooth. Graphics are drop-dead gorgeous, I mean... look at Eve and the enemy designs. The soundtrack is like having an ear orgasm. Everything about Stellar Blade (but the story) is phenomenal.
Shift Up, as a new studio has really showed companies like Ubisoft, EA and more, how it's done and those companies can learn from Shift Up.

10/10. It's to hard to play with one hand Shift Up, what have you done to us!!
