State of Anarchy Review (Letande)

Cheap little indie game from Russian developers, based on Unity engine. Sounds awful, but... it's actually fun. Very fun... for like two minutes. And that's the story of this game. To make it short, it's a humorous top-down shooter with open world and funny graphics. Gameplay is simple, but fun and addictive, so, it sounds like a good thing. Unfortunately, after the first two minutes you begin to understand. Understand just how repetitive this game is.
Basically, the whole game plays like this – you're in the middle of the city and everybody (different people with various weapons and various cars) are trying to kill you. Your goal is to follow the big red quest marker and reach the nearby bank. Inside, you'll need to kill a boss (just a fat guy with a strong gun). After killing a boss, you can get yourself a weapon upgrade. Repeat.
That's it. There's nothing else in the game. Check out the official video. It's the whole game. There's absolutely nothing else. Even bosses are just the same exact guy again and again. After repeating that process for some time (somewhere on the way so-called “Anarchy Level” will grow, which means that there'll be stronger enemies around, while you can level up and improve your health, shooting and running speed, but all in all all that won't add a single thing to gameplay), in the normal mode you'll get some sort of ending (just some pictures in the slideshow mode). Fully in Russian, though, since English translation is a lie. There's also so-called Hardcore Mode. Which is basically free roaming with no goal, but, of course, it can't help the fact that the game feels extremely repetitive and empty.
So, even though State of Anarchy looks cute and unique, there's really nothing in it. After the first two minutes gameplay turns into a boring loop with nothing new on the way, while you can easily reach the ending in less than an hour. After that there'll be literally no point to continue and / or return to the game, since, as I've already said, the game becomes boring after the first two minutes. There are also no achievements, or leaderboards. So, as much as I like the main idea, there's nothing in State of Anarchy to recommend.
