Starpoint Gemini 2 Review ({RW} Statik`)
Despite enjoying it, I can't in good conscience, recommend it for $35 (full price at the time of this writing). It is very buggy/glitchy, not to mention technically/graphically dated at this point. I seriously can't fathom why they'd still be selling it for $35...This was never more than a $15 game even when it came out.
That being said, if you get it on extreme discount, as I did, I think it's a pretty fun and relatively casual time waster.
Combat is about the only time it's really exciting at all and I'd say they did pretty good job with those mechanics. Nevertheless, like many open world games, it's very "grindy" (lots of repetitive tasks to earn money, to get upgrades to do more lucrative repetitive things to make more money to upgrade more, etc, etc), so if that's not your jam, steer clear.
Have not completed the story, so cannot comment on that but what I've done so far, seems pretty ok.
I play on Linux Mint via Proton and it is stable, as far as crashing.
Overall, it's not great but it's not terrible. I think I picked it up on sale for like $5 and for that price, I have no regrets.
