Star Wars: The Clone Wars Review (Drave Lock)
Oh man was this a bad time. if you haven't already seen it used games for windows live so unless you get a patch or something that maybe exists you can't save and you have to beat the game in one sitting. A unique technical issue I had was because I was playing it in one sitting I decided to treat it like a Playstation 2 with no memory card and leave it going overnight so I could resume in the morning. When I turned my speakers and monitor back on I couldn't get the audio to come back. I said oh well I'll play with no sound but then my subtitles were stuck. So then I said oh well the dialogue was trash anyway but it locked the game up to a point that someone was supposed to talk so I could progress but due to the subtitle bug they never did. I was 5 and half hours into the 6 hour dung heap.
So lets talk about the game itself. I had aged out of being the target audience at the time (2009) but always wanted to go back to it for some reason. The combat is brain dead easy as well as difficult in parts where the game fails to explain what it wants you to do. Yoda gives you tips but they're mostly bad and so often that it's infuriating. Seriously if you take too long going to an objective he will say something and interrupt. The Jedi game play is bland and is outclassed by licensed tie in games the came out years before this one. The Clones actually have more variety than the Jedi as their guns feel slightly different from one another. The platforming is so simple it's difficult. Like I said earlier the dialogue is rough, like it feels like George Lucas wrote it. It's also very clear that while this game is set between Seasons 1 and 2 of the show it feels like the actors are voicing their characters for the first time. Especially Anaking and Ahsoka. Everyone feels like a parody of themselves. The only redeeming parts are the clones and this kinda makes me want an actually good Twin Stick Clone Wars shooter and maybe bring back some clones they introduced just for this game.
In conclusion this is absolutely not worth your time no matter how big of a clone wars fan you are, also I'm stuck with it because I'm past the 2 hour refund window.
