Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order Review (xxadonisxx)

STAR WARS Jedi: Fallen Order™ stands out as one of the best original single-player Star Wars games in years. Respawn Entertainment takes the best elements of narrative-driven action-adventure games and blends them with challenging, tactical combat inspired by Soulslikes. The result is a satisfying journey that finally delivers the Force powers and exploration many fans have longed for—without resorting to multiplayer gimmicks.
Combat in Fallen Order is methodical, emphasizing timing, parrying, and stamina management. Lightsaber fights feel weighty and impactful, with a variety of Force powers—push, pull, slow time—adding tactical depth and creative options in battles.
Enemies range from stormtroopers to Sith assassins and monstrous creatures, each demanding different strategies. While the difficulty curve is generally smooth, some boss fights can be punishing and require precision. The game strikes a good balance between accessibility and challenge, making it enjoyable for newcomers and seasoned Soulslike players alike.
One of the game’s biggest strengths is its well-designed, semi-open planets that encourage exploration and backtracking—classic Metroidvania elements. Each world is packed with secrets, upgrades, and environmental puzzles that reward curiosity.
From the lush forests of Kashyyyk to the eerie ruins of Dathomir, the environments are diverse, detailed, and steeped in Star Wars lore. Traversal abilities acquired throughout the game—double jump, wall run, force push—feel empowering and unlock new paths, keeping exploration fresh and engaging.
The narrative follows Cal Kestis, a young Jedi Padawan on the run after Order 66. His journey to rebuild the Jedi Order is personal and heartfelt, supported by a small but memorable cast including the witty droid BD-1 and the mysterious Cere Junda.
The story captures the classic Star Wars tone—hope, loss, and redemption—without feeling like a retread. It’s not overly complex but has enough twists and emotional moments to keep players invested.
Graphically, Fallen Order impresses with detailed character models, atmospheric lighting, and iconic Star Wars settings rendered beautifully. The sound design is top-notch, from the hum of the lightsaber to the soundtrack that channels John Williams’ spirit without directly copying it.
Voice acting is solid across the board, especially Paul Massey as Cal and Cameron Monaghan as Cere, adding emotional weight to the adventure.
STAR WARS Jedi: Fallen Order™ successfully marries classic Star Wars storytelling with deep, rewarding gameplay. While not without minor flaws—some repetitive combat segments and occasional camera quirks—it offers a compelling single-player experience that fills a void for Star Wars fans craving a grounded, story-driven game.
Pros:
-Satisfying lightsaber combat with strategic depth
-Engaging exploration with Metroidvania-style level design

-Beautiful, authentic Star Wars worlds and audio
-Balanced challenge for a broad range of players
Cons:
-Some combat encounters can feel repetitive
