Star Wars: Battlefront II Review (Rebel Yehl)
First off, non one likes EA and their forced launcher use/download. Aside from that, the game is fun to play. Yes, there is a dwindling player count and there's a mix of try-hards and players that just want to have fun...thankfully mostly people wanting to have fun. I manly play the co-op game mode of defend/attack because it's just 4 of you versus AI, so you can play whatever hero you choose (as long as one of your other 3 teammates aren't playing them). Plus, you earn experience that transfers over to multiplayer. I've run into a few people multiple times who are also grinding experience away so they unlock the cards to use in multiplayer AND players, who like me, just want to dive right in and have a jolly time without being massacred in multiplayer (which at this point is manly AI and a few other actual players).
Another note to add is that the fanbase has released extra skins and whole frigg'n new characters to the game that EA cut or never bothered with because EA sucks and only wants money. Example...ASHOKA!!!! Let's be real...this game was a flop because EA touched it and loaded it with microtransactions and then up and abandoned it when the player base lashed back. Thankfully, all microtransactions have been removed and you now have access to everything for free (plus grinding experience for cards...but its a permanent double/triple exp boost since the game was abandon, so not too much of a grind.)
All in all...the game is better off now that EA left it and the fanbase has taken over introducing new characters and skins that you can download as mods. As for cheaters, I personally haven't seen any...or none that I've noticed were cheating anyways. If you're tired of Back 4 Blood, which was also recently abandoned, this is refreshing AND if you love Star Wars it's a place to nerd out and play your favorite people.
P.S. Thanks to EA and their launcher...the game wont run unless you load up EA's launcher first, then launch the game (usually twice for me) before it loads up and lets you in. Then, you may run into "being offline" which will require you to pull up EA's launcher once again and refresh the status to go online. It's annoying. Thanks EA.
