Spirit Valor Review (polednick)
Kemco...this is now my 50+ game from this publisher.
Spirit Valor by Exe Create Inc.
Like almost all Exe games, this one is aimed more at casual players. It's clearly a super-light RPG.
Accordingly, my warning: You don't need the overpriced pay-to-win DLC.
What to expect: A party of teens who want to save the world.
The game *can* be a grindfest if you want to defeat all the enemies. After all, the level cap is 999. At the same time, however, the battles are very easy. There are four difficulty levels: from easy to extra hard. In the dungeons, there are checkpoints you can warp to after entering them. There are also the popular monster statues where you can adjust the frequency of encounters or even fight three consecutive battles (the way to grind).
There is a fast travel function to previously visited towns and dungeons.
In the cities, in addition to the inn, potions, weapons, and armor, you can also complete various side quests. Usually, you'll either search for something or have to fight a certain number of monsters.
In the capital, there's also an arena...there are some not-so-interesting prizes. But later on, there's the Secret Arena where you can get stat items (grinding!!!).
Otherwise, there's roulette every day...where you can try your luck twice (per day). An in-game shop (after every three battles, you receive coins for this shop), a secret room where you can unlock benefits (with the coins), such as 20% more damage. And finally, you can craft items.
For this, you need tickets, which you get randomly in battles, or coins (better items), or (rarely!) premium tickets that give you particularly good items.
A good one...there are no weapons or armor to win.
You can only find good weapons and armor in chests, or get them in the arena (armor), or from some NPCs during normal playthroughs.
After the final boss, you can continue playing to explore some extra dungeons and, of course, see the real ending.
This is where the grinding begins!
Overall, one of EXE's better games. It can even be a bit fun (though the dialogue is a bit embarrassing).
Something to play while you wait for a proper RPG.
