South Park: The Fractured But Whole - From Dusk Till Casa Bonita Review (OptimalButthole)
This DLC was okay. As a story, it felt like a south park episode and that’s great. It’s just, I was falling asleep while playing which meant I was pretty bored of it. I dunno, I wish it was more better but it is what it is. I was entertained but I can’t say I enjoyed it.
The main problems that I have with it is this. I don’t see why Kenny’s sister being a vamp kid is such a problem. It sucked hearing her say stop hurting each other and how much fun she was having with her new friends. Like the vamp kids are good kids just enjoying their time at Casabonita so it’s hard for me to enjoy the story. Like, every time I visited her house in this game and the last game, she was alone and I felt so sad for her. We all know Kenny’s family lives in bad conditions. :-/
The next problem is the inclusion of a certain celebrity at the end. When is using him going to stop?
The other problem that I have is that the black guy, who’s part of the vamp kids. He doesn’t sound like the original voice actor that I remember. It was his voice and how he delivered those lines that made me laugh in the original episode. In this game, it feels so off with that new voice actor.
One good thing to say is that I really liked the music in the main room of the game. It was like a happy sounding beat. It was nice. Also, the levels looked great. Very wonderfully crafted.
But yeah, I can’t say I enjoyed it or hated it. But seeing her happy for once to then having it be crushed, and then on to something else is repulsive for me.
I guess another good thing is that it was short.
