Sorry We're Closed Review (Mavrynth)

A survival horror that plays like Silent Hill or Signalis, but - in addition the default third person perspective - comes with a first-person mode built in and complemented nicely with a weak point system. Game play consists of completing main story objectives and side quests in the hub(s), while going out each day exploring bizarre demon-twisted madhouses and dreamscapes.

During my time, balancing ammo, health pickups, and exploration was usually pretty easy. When it wasn't, dying wasn't too bad a setback - usually loading from the beginning of a room. The game uses a save point system along, with an auto save and checkpoint system when you die.

The story of Sorry We're Closed was pretty different, focusing on how love, friendship, and breakups change who we are not just metaphorically, but physically. It asks "What if Lucifer fell from heaven because of a bad breakup with God?" and then builds a world around the fallout. A tragic twist to the exile of the fallen angels that asks us what we're willing to do for love. Blasphemers of Christian mythology rejoice.

The visuals, music, and atmosphere were top-notch. It looks like a season of JoJo's Bizarre Adventure and Silent Hill on the original Playstation, had a - disturbed - non-binary, gay lovechild. Wonderfully aesthetic.

I encountered exactly one bug where I fell through the floor while getting belly flopped by a demon, resulting in my death and reloading from the beginning of the room. No big deal.

Sorry We're Closed is an unapologetic, flamboyant survival horror with multiple endings, plenty of hidden secrets to find, and decent replay value. I would recommend it to any survival horror fan. Looking forward to seeing more from à la mode games.
