Solasta: Crown of the Magister - Primal Calling Review (babablacksheep904)
As a huge fan of tactical battles, CRPG'S, and D&D, I can wholeheartedly recommend this game! The script, voice acting, and storyline are a bit bland and lackluster--but almost in an intentional, comical way. I can't help but feel as though there's a slight element of satire to it in fact, an aspect I appreciated during gameplay.
Now, as to the gameplay itself: it is immersive, engaging, complex, and very very entertaining to learn the in's and out's of combat, character customization, and development. I am GREATLY enjoying rolling new characters, outfitting them with skills, and retreading old ground just to try new strategies and synergies. The replay value of the DLC and the base game is immense!
All in all, I'd offer this game 8/10. And when I consider that this is Tactical Adventure's first tactical adventure and the very small size of the studio, I can only offer a standing ovation. Very well done product. I can't wait for their next venture... but I do hope we will see more content, free or otherwise, for Solasta! It's simply too fun and I for one am dying to play a warlock. They're easily one of my favorite D&D classes, right up there next to sorcerer.
