Solasta: Crown of the Magister - Lost Valley Review (Thr)
I am extremely disappointed by this DLC. Do yourself a favor and don't buy this. Seriously. Compared to the main game, it's a complete bugfest, pretty much unplayable. And unlike Palace of Ice, it has no relevance to the main story whatsoever.
Quests cannot be completed, whole questlines can break in the middle and won't continue, you have to carry heavy items for a quest you cannot even obtain anymore and you cannot remove them from your inventory because they are quest items... it's a total mess.
At one point I got a new location on the map, went there, naturally murdered everyone and everything hostile and it basically broke the whole quest system for no obvious reason. The DLC was advertised as non-linear story but it seems that if you do not follow a single linear path the developers intended (I have no idea what path that is), you will end up with The Mask and The People factions completely broken and unfinishable. The game does not even acknowledge your actions. For instance I found the guy I was initially tasked to find, talked to him, he gave me yet another bugged quest that could not be finished and when I gave up trying, at the very end the game tells me "the guy was never found, maybe he never existed, LOL". Non-linear story my ass.
You can even murder the main Oreo whatshisname guy very early when a NPC wizard joins your party. Granted, it wasn't an easy fight but I was curious about the consequences. There were none. Nobody, not even your own party, acknowledges the fact that the guy is dead and his corpse is rotting in the castle. No, the rest of the valley is still scheming against him. You can even leave, ignore everyone and finish the "story" anytime you want from that point. What a piece of fucking garbage.
