Solasta: Crown of the Magister - Lost Valley Review (Hailspork)

The Lost Valley campaign has a lot of problems. It has a system of aligning yourself to your "choice" of factions, but sometimes you get pulled into a fight where the game chooses which faction you side with. You can arbitrarily lose faction rep by siding with another faction, even if those two factions are working together. There are also heavy quest items that you can't drop or store anywhere, and you can't turn in if your faction rep suddenly drops.
Some of the maps are way too small. In particular, there are these fort maps. The NPC's aren't hostile to you unless you try entering the fort; if you send your stealthiest character in, they will get hostile the second they see the rest of the party and magically know that they have a friend inside. It's a tiny map, so there aren't a lot of good places to hide the rest of your party. These maps are also repetitive and uninteresting, usually only having the quest object to interact with.
There are also random encounters in swamps, and you die if you fall in. But it's not like skeletal sorcerers have Thunderwave and commonly fight on 10'x10' islands, forcing your melee to always be on the edge and be 1 failed save away from death...
Magic items are rare, though crafting is plentiful. I suppose this is intended to ensure you get the magic weapons you need, and not 12 unused scimitars (though you will get 500 +1 spiked maces).
Lastly, I don't understand why I'm trapped in the valley. Sure, when I was level 1 and there was a CR 8 elite bug blocking the path I wanted, I can't really get through. But now I'm level 10 and have teleportation and flight.
