SNK Heroines: Tag Team Frenzy Review (The Snacrifice)
What a weird game.
SNK Heroines is a stripped down fighting game with a C or D-roll plot about a creepy perv kidnapping a bunch of SNK's female fighters(as well as the likes of Terry Bogard transformed into a girl and a few others), forcing them to fight eachother while wearing ludicrous outfits to increase their despair and his own power until he can rule over them forever.
...Which is kind of a shame, because there's a decent game here. It's not a fighter like king of fighters, it's instead a stripped down brawler with a control scheme closer to a tag-battle super smash bros than anything else. These lead to short but quick fights that are easy to pick up and are perfect for either new players to fighting games or someone looking to play with someone new to fighting games to ease them into it.
Unfortunately, SNK heroines is kind of sleazy by design. Listen, there's nothing wrong with some fan service, but the game has that Dead or Alive Xtreme Beach Volleyball vibe to it. I like it because it's so ludicrous and funny, but if you go into this seeking something else you'll be disappointed.
My biggest complaints were a miserably unfun final boss and a surprisingly sparse and small roster of playable characters, but hundreds of cosplay and alternative costumes to customize your preferred waifu with and surprisingly fun mechanics makes SNK Heroines a fun game.
