Sleeping Dogs: Definitive Edition Review (Asa)

I don't want to compare Sleeping Dogs to other titles in the same area of genre, but as someone who has played GTA, and favorite series is Yakuza, I felt at home playing this game. Although, it felt more as a mix between Saints Row 2 and GTA, just in Hong Kong of which it's location was a breath of fresh air and amazing.
Wei Shen is a pretty cool protagonist, a man who although is working undercover, really had everyone's backs and willing to support and raise the heads of everyone around him (honestly this might just be a trope that I personally love). I appreciate his humanizing portrayed through the PTSD nightmares he'd wake up from in a cold sweat, seeing as anyone who goes through the same hell he experiences everyday would suffer from the same problem.
Although the game has a lot of positives, something that really bothered me was how stiff and off-putting the controls feel.
Many times I'd try to simply get into a car, climb an object, or even attempt to get through a door, Wei would just suffer from input queues, running into walls, or straight up jump off a building, failing the mission for me. But this problem isn't enough to ruin the game, and probably just another problem from another crappy decade old programming that all PC games from before 2016 seem to suffer from.
But for $3 with all DLC included? 100% a valid purchase. Although a lot of it just made me want to go play Yakuza again for its satisfying combat and better developed content.
