Skullgirls: 2nd Encore Review (Rawket)
This game is legit the perfect fighting game in my eyes.
Between the hand drawn animations and the pain staking love they put into this game, there's really not much to complain when it comes to content and the ability to truly play HOWEVER you really want to.
Pros:
-Phenominal handdrawn animations
-A dev team that actually cares
-A loving community that's thriving and always willing to teach players
-The ability to choose any move as an assist
-You're able to play as a single character, doubles or trios! With balancing applied to each to all are viable
-a very well balanced and rounded roster, showcasing many archtypes of fighting games
-Truly unique character designs
-Amazing netcode
-A lobby system that should be paving the way for other fighting games.
-even if not playing competitively, it's very fun to jump in casually
-Phenominal tutorial system and character combo guides.
-You can play new characters in the alpha build, before the animations are even finished!
Cons:
-not necessarily a con, but it is a very high skillcap game. There's a lot to learn about the game and learning it could take hundreds of hours
-Matchmaking is very lacking of players unless on discord.
Overall:
This game is everything that i could ever want in a fighting game, it has all archetypes and the creative fluidity of combat and truly being able to customize your team infinitely makes this game worth picking up and booting up over and over again.
I will never not recommend this game.
