Sid Meier's Civilization VI: Persia and Macedon Civilization & Scenario Pack Review (Master of the Continuum)
Alexander alone is worth picking this one up. No war weariness means you never have to let up and regroup to prevent your low amenities from causing uprisings. Alexander can focus solely on conquest. Your unique improvement provides science for every military unit trained in the city, which helps in keeping your armies up-to-date. You are handsomely rewarded for capturing those juicy enemy cities. When captured, they will provide free eurekas and inspirations depending on the types of districts they have. In addition, you can keep the war machine going by saving certain cities for taking at certain times. when your units are getting low on health, just conquer that city with a wonder and heal them all up. No need to waste time healing in enemy lands before taking the next city. just keep on going! Alexander offers 2 unique units, which work in conjunction for a great classical era conquest.
I can't speak to the Persians or the scenario as I have yet to play them, but they seem rather fun to play.
The new wonders this adds are very nice. Apadana is always one to get if you're wonder-whoring, as it gives +2 envoys every time you build a wonder in its city. all it requires is that it be built next to a city center.
The mausoleum is kinda meh, but if you find its bonuses to be worth it, then it has its use. Apadana is a lot more universally applicable though.
The only thing remotely bad about this is the base price. And that is easily alleviated by simply buying the deluxe edition of the game when you first pick it up. The deluxe edition's base price is 20$ extra in addition to the base game. divide that by 7 new civs, and that factors out to being 2.86$ per new civ. And the DLCs also come with scenarios, new wonders, and new city states as well.
get it on a sale, and it is even more cost-effective. right now it is 50% off, making the total merely 10$ more than the base game's 30$. so that makes each new civ cost 1.43$, with free scenarios, wonders, and city states.
and I would definitely say that this dlc is worth 3$, or even 5$.
