Sid Meier's Civilization IV: Complete Edition Review (Toasty)
As I have played well over a thousand hours, I can say this is a very fun and attention grabbing game. With every intention of "oh just one more turn", Civ VI will keep you on edge waiting to see what'll happen next. I only have 2 of the dlc's, but even still, there are SO many variables to account for.
Are you going to build a technological empire, only to have it lost in fire to your enemies? Are you going to rule the world with your religion of love, or be squandered by the changing cultures and times? Will you find favor in other civilizations and forget every one of your cities aches for amenities and then you have riots because your people are unhappy? And then change production to favor amenities and have your treasury go broke, suddenly requiring you to lose your military to keep your civilization's bank from being your demise? And then have one of your allies dislike you because their like for you having productive/happy/rich/religious people has suddenly gone awry. Causing them to denounce you and go to war with you... and because your friendship with those countries has recently ended, when one goes to war with you, no one aids you. and when you get vengeful and try to wreak havoc on your new enemy, the world yells back "Warmonger" and now it's you against the world???
See, the possibilities are endless...okay maybe not endless, but it'd be a really big number of possibilities, and it's only magnified with the dlc's.
Anyway. It's a really fun game for sure. And if you spend as much time as I have on this, it is well worth the price!!
