if you get revived on the 31st floor it doesnt reset your inventory. Rescue aids are weird cause it doesnt inform you of their starting gear, it would be cool if you had rescue points assigned to the value of the items they were holding, maybe not. im sure they thought about that alot i guess! ive done 80 floors of PMDs purity forest as clefairy in 2.5 months of 8 hours a day (frustration tm in 10 floors or youre 100% dead in the water). Ive seen streamers run purity forest with dozens of pokemon afterwards, but i genuinely believe they use altered roms because the floors just spawn 100% differently to my gamecube set up.
its nice to think that my computer is my friend and he makes tons of little decisions for me in this game. im sorry im simple minded, but its weird to think about this big box i made with love determining RNG. Feels like ive come a long way in life and really makes me feel like i own a spaceship in a way other games dont.
its important to stay within gods light with RNG, paying for shiren is a must (looking at pmd emulators that have strayed too far imo), happy to see PMD on switch now even if it has no option for a no save state mode. pmd deluxe was good, ive beat the story like 5 times. tbh pokemons main games biggest detriment past gen 2 was always the levelling system. they very consciously went a hard direction with gen 2 in terms of game difficulty (game is about clearing the entire game with a gifted shiny level 1 pokemon), but yeah anyways the games feel stifled by level scaling in gen 3. maybe pmd felt this way about typing which is why effectiveness and weakness is decreased in pmd. purity forest to floor 50, times 10 or 12, with meaningful pokemon typing unlocks like the mercenary unlocks in 6? spaghet about it, thats a mystery dungeon game
